Natural silica (silicon dioxide-SiO 2) stone, quartz (lumps) is a simple compound of the elements silicon and oxygen. It is the most abundant mineral on the earth and is also one of the most important minerals on the earth. Industrial uses of silica depend on purity and physical characteristics.
