The IMP environmental management system was recognized in 2008 as a certified environmental system complying with AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004.

Index Mineral Processors seeks to be proactive in environmental management by demonstrating good stewardship of the natural resources by reducing the environmental footprint it incurs, and meeting community expectations to support
sustainable development.

Environmental management at IMP is integrated into all management systems and operating procedures.

The key issues are air quality, climate change (greenhouse gas emissions), water consumption (conservation and recycling), and waste management.
