Monashee Mountain
Monashee Mountain, a half brother to the American Horse of the Year Mineshaft and fellow stakes winners Tomisue's Delight, Rock Slide and Delta Music, was an extremely talented racehorse.
He won four races from just seven starts including the Group Three Tetrarch Stakes at the Currag and Group Three Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown. His other two wins came at listed level - again one at the Curragh and another at Leopardstown.
As well as being a half brother to two Group One winners, Monashee Mountain is a son of a Group One winner.
His dam, the Mr. Prospector mare Prospectors Delite, was a winner twice at racing's elite level - the Acorn Stakes at Belmont and the Ashland Stakes at Keeneland. She also finished third in the Kentucky Oaks.
She in turn is a daughter of the Delaware Oaks winner Up the Flagpole, therefore making her a half sister to Nureyev's Group winning daughter Flagbird and AP Indy's star filly Runup the Colours.
Monashee Mountain progeny have won races in England, Ireland, France, America, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Austria, Greece, Korea, Turkey and of course Australia.
He's had 24 winners from 57 runners in Australia and his progeny have earned over $1.6 million.
La Montagna is the only Australia stakes performer to date for Monashee Mountain. His other Australia winners include smart performers Ascendant, Absolom, Sir Monashee and Via'vai.
Overseas he's had five stakes winners - headed by Italian Group winner Le Giare - a winner of seven races. His other stakes winners are Don Pele, Kay Two, Jader and Shamoan. Gamble in Gold, Polydors and Woodcote are also European black type placegetters.
